Furnace Install in Bailieboro
Not the kind of indoor swimming pool you want
As a home services company, we see many flooded basements. It is especially true when the snow melts in the spring. A flooded basement will ruin your appliances, not to mention that it can be dangerous. Furnaces have an electrical component to them so, if it is under water you should call a professional to help right away.
We know that it can seem overwhelming when replacing your furnace because of a flooded house. We also know that when you call a company that has experience in dealing with these types of problems, it can drastically reduce your anxiety level. The highly trained team at Doyle can not only get your furnace install done quickly, we can also help with the plumbing and renovation repairs that come with a flooded basement.
A new basement and a new furnace
This job took us to the small town of Bailieboro, halfway in between Port Hope and Peterborough. Our customer had a flood in their basement, which engulfed their furnace in water. They called in Doyle to help with both the plumbing and HVAC issues related to the flood. There was no doubt that they would need to replace their furnace. The homeowner opted for the 9600 series 80,000 BTU Napoleon furnace. Let’s take a look at what we did:
- Removed and disconnected the old furnace
- Brought in a new furnace and put in place
- Adapted the venting to fit the new install
- Adapted the gas line to connect to the new install
- Adapted the drain to fit the furnace
- Hooked up the furnace to new venting, gas line, and drain line
- Tested the gas pressure and found it to be at 15 psi
- Tested the air for carbon monoxide in the furnace cabinet, in the room that it is located, and in the ducts. Found 0ppm in all areas.
Before they knew it, the basement looked good as new, plus they had all of their appliances replaced. While it may not have been a pleasant way to make a furnace upgrade decision, at the very least, they now have a reliable brand-new high efficiency furnace install that will last them for many years to come.
