Water Treatment System Install
So, you finally decided to invest in a water treatment system, congratulations! This is a worthwhile investment in your home for both resale value and the health of your family. Just when you thought you were done making choices, there are actually a couple more to make.
Choosing the sales and installation company and the equipment brand
You need to select a company to install the equipment as well as which brand of water treatment system you want in your home. You will want to make sure the company you choose is a reputable company and the quality of their work is important. You should make sure they will do a good job on what they install but also that they stand behind their work if something goes wrong. Another factor to consider is which brand they will install because not all products are created equal. Most plumbing companies have a specific brand they work with, Doyle Home Services installs Viqua products. This is because they are reliable, durable and high quality. Some lesser brands are made with cheaper materials and will not last as long. Viqua makes excellent quality products that keep running, without issue, for years. They also have a great warranty on their products should they stop working, they will replace the unit as long as it is within the specified timeframe.
Lots of iron is a good thing in your diet, not in your water
We recently had a job that brought us to the town of Tyrone, just 15 minutes north of Bowmanville. The customer had called us for a leak in their basement. After getting that fixed up for the homeowner, we did a free water quality test. This would tell them which, if any, water treatment system they would need. It does this by telling you different mineral levels found in your water, such as calcium, magnesium, bicarbonates, iron, sulfides and sulfates. In this particular case, the water sample showed high levels of iron. As a result, the solution was to install a Viqua sanitizer. We provided a quote and our customer decided to go ahead with installing the sanitizer. Here is what we did:
- Turned off water to the main shut-off
- Chose a location for the unit where there was easy access to water lines
- Brought in new sanitizer unit and put it in place
- Installed new water piping to the sanitizer unit
- Connected the new water piping to the unit
- Put in electrical wiring and connected to new plug to use for sanitizer
- Connected power to the sanitizer and turned it on
- Checked all water connections for leaks
- Tested sanitizer unit to ensure it was working properly
That was that! Another happy customer and a fully functioning sanitizer unit. If you want to learn about your water quality, we can perform a water quality test for you to determine what type of water treatment system you need in your home. Give us a call to meet with one of our highly trained plumbers so we can help you get the best water possible.
