New Continental furnace installation
No heat is definitely a problem
The weather is quickly starting to turn, and with that means more and more furnace breakdowns. It is never a nice feeling to wake up on a cold fall morning and realize that the whole house is freezing! After fiddling with the thermostat, you realize that your furnace is not working. Of course, this usually happens at the worst possible time. Luckily for our customers, we have a team of highly skilled HVAC technicians who are there to help seven days a week and 24 hours a day. While it is never a good time to have to unexpectedly replace your furnace, at least you can have some comfort knowing our technicians will work tirelessly until you are back to being comfortable and warm in your home.
Old furnace out, new Continental furnace in
One of our earlier furnace replacements of the season was in the municipality of Trent Hills, on the Trent River. We were called to the customer’s home to inspect an issue with the furnace not giving off any heat. After inspecting, the HVAC technician notified the customer of several issues found, he also deemed it unsafe to use at this time. Due to the age of the system and how many problems were discovered the best option was to replace with a new furnace. After looking at the options, the home owner chose to go with the new Continental furnace installation. This particular model was the natural gas 9600 series. Let’s look at what was done:
- The first step was to disconnect the gas
- Next, we unhooked all gas lines going to the furnace
- We took out the old unit and disposed of it
- Put the new furnace in position
- The tech connected the gas line and inspected for leaks
- The current duct work was connected to the new furnace
- Connected the low and high voltage, this is the power supply to the furnace
- Ensured all connections were hooked up properly
- Turned unit on to run through a heating cycle
- Tested for carbon dioxide in the home
And they were back to having a heated house again. If you are thinking about replacing your older furnace before landing in a no-heat situation, give us a call for a free estimate.
