Are you and your furnace ready for the winter?
The weather is turning colder and people are starting to turn their furnaces on. There is nothing worse than going to start your system up for the first time at the start of the season and it does not start. Getting a simple annual furnace tune-up can prevent you from getting stuck in this position. This way you can hopefully avoid a breakdown when you need your heating system most. The best time to get this done is right before or close to the start of heating season. After sitting for the summer issues can surface that were not there previously. If you are proactive about your maintenance you can avoid more issues later on.
A clean furnace is a happy furnace.
Our highly skilled HVAC technicians take great care of your equipment when they come in to perform your annual maintenance. There are many reasons why getting a furnace tune-up is a good idea. Let’s look at them now:
- One that most people do not know about is that if you do not get your annual furnace tune-up you can void your warranty on your equipment. Many manufacturers will not honor the warranty if you have not maintained your equipment yearly.
- It could reduce your heating costs. When your furnace is properly maintained you make sure that it is running at optimum efficiency and this can lower your heating costs.
- Part of the tune-up is to check for any carbon monoxide in the air caused by your furnace. A special combustion analyzer is used that can pick up even minute levels of carbon monoxide, which if left unaddressed can cause long term health problems. Your standard carbon monoxide detector will only alert you if there are high levels of carbon monoxide that put you in imminent danger, it is not designed to pick up lower levels. In contrast, if over the course of a tune up any carbon monoxide is detected, the technician will quickly determine the cause and notify you of the necessary repairs.
- The best part is having peace-of-mind that your furnace has no known issues and should not have any problems through the winter.
