Hot water tank install in Port Hope
Hot water tanks have a lifespan of about 10-12 years. After this amount of time, it makes more financial sense to replace the tank rather than repair it. The most common reason we are called to fix a hot water tank is because of leaking. A leaking hot water tank can result in anything from just a small patch of water to a room full of water.
Did you know?
The majority of home insurance providers will not cover water damage from a leaking water heater that is 10 years or older. Due to the potential implications to your home and even your insurance it is best to get a professional in as quickly as possible to keep the problem from getting bigger. A big leak could result in issues with your other appliances, such as your furnace. The experts at Doyle are able to help you take care of the problem right away and get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
A leaking hot water tank can’t stop us.
This job brought us to the town of Port Hope, just half an hour east of Oshawa. We were called to a customer’s home to inspect their leaking hot water tank. After inspecting it we determined that the hot water element had cracked which had resulted in a slow leak from the tank. Due to the age and condition of the tank the best course of action was to replace it. We went with an electric John Wood water heater. Here’s what we did:
- Turned off power and water to the existing hot water tank
- Disconnected the old hot water tank and took it out of the house
- Put new hot water tank in place
- Hooked up water line to the hot water tank
- Took off old water shut off valve and put in new one
- Connected power to the new tank
The customer was left with a working hot water tank without any leaks. Plus, peace-of-mind that they will not need to buy another hot water tank for quite some time. If you are interested in getting a quote for a new hot water tank please give us a call.
