Updating your bathroom in a few easy steps

Updating your bathroom is easier than you realize

We have found that updating your bathroom has been a popular pandemic project and you can see why. Looking at an old, outdated bathroom can get quite tiresome. Making your bathroom look fresh and new again can be surprisingly inexpensive. Your money goes further than updating something like a kitchen because a couple small changes can make it feel like a new room.

Some of the things you can do are:

Fresh paint

New fresh paint goes a long way. Looking at the same colour room year after year gets boring. Picking a modern colour will make your room look bright and new. When choosing a paint colour for a bathroom it is best to go with something soft and warm. This will make the room not feel too small but also will be easy to match your fixtures too.

Adding a tile backsplash

Do you have any tiling on your walls? If not, that’s an opportunity to liven up your room! Adding a nice tile backsplash above the sink is surprisingly easy and if it’s a small area it is a very inexpensive job to complete. Have a look at some modern tiling options out there to get some ideas of what would look good and updated your bathroom.

Replacing your toilet

Usually, replacing your toilet is not something you think about until it breaks. Then you have to deal with finding a plumber right away to get a new one in and usually settling for whichever one they have in stock at the time. The advantage you have when you decide to replace an older toilet is that you get to pick whatever style you want and you can plan to do it when you are ready. Putting in a new toilet can update your bathroom by making it look less out-of-date plus you know you will have years before you have to buy a new toilet.

Put in a new vanity

This is a little bit more of an expense but would make the biggest difference to the look and feel of the room. Most homes, specifically ones where the homeowners haven’t done any updates since moving in, will have a basic vanity. If you were looking to really update your bathroom, a vanity is where you get the most bang for your buck. There are many different options when it comes to style, colour and size. If you can check all three of these boxes with the new vanity you choose then you are in for a beautiful new look.

Picking just one of these to update your bathroom will help with making it feel new. If you can do a combination of a couple of these or even all of them, you will have a brand-new room without having to make any major changes. Interested in updating your bathroom? Give us a call.
