Providing Clean and Safe Purified Drinking Water

Installing an Ultra Violet bulb water purifiers can help provide safe drinking water for your home, cottage, or business. Our water technicians can test your water on-site for hardness, sulphur, and iron levels, as well as coordinate water testing with your local municipality. We provide UV bulb inspection and replacement services based on water volume levels for accurate replacement times. Contact Doyle Plumbing to learn more about our UV bulb water filter & purification systems.

How does UV light purify your water?

  • UV-C rays penetrate microorganisms and become absorbed by the DNA of the pathogen in the treated water. This alters its DNA and kills the pathogen, preventing potential infections.
  • UV-C rays will destroy a minimum of 99.99% of harmful microorganisms. This includes E. coli, Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
  • Organisms are unable to develop immune mechanisms against UV light.
  • NSF International has established a UV dose of 40 mJ/cm2 as the minimum UV dose required to ensure that all bacteria, viruses, Giardia and Cryptosporidium are killed or inactivated to a safe level.
  • A UV Filter does not add chemicals or byproducts to the water supply.  So there is no change in taste, odour, pH, conductivity, or the chemistry of your water.

Small drinking water system

Small drinking water systems – ONTARIO REGULATION 319/08?

Do you own a short-term rental like an Airbnb or run a business that is open to the public? There are some new regulations regarding your drinking water that you need to know about.

  • If your business or premise provides drinking water to the public and you do not get your drinking water from a municipal drinking water system, you may be the owner or operator of a small drinking water system.
  • Small drinking water systems that are regulated under Ontario Regulation 319/08 are assessed by Public Health Inspectors (PHIs). The PHI will issue a directive outlining what the owner/operator of the system must do to keep the drinking water safe.
  • NSF International certified UV disinfection systems couuld be required to treat non-municipal small drinking water systems in order to be compliant.
  • Non-compliance can lead to some hefty fines and even closure of your business.

Our VIQUA Lineup of NSF certified UV Disinfection Water Treatment Systems

VIQUA Lightwise PRO10, PRO20, & PRO30 Ultraviolet Water Disinfection Systems

VIQUA PRO Series UV system
  • LightWise Technology allows the controller to reduce lamp power during periods of no water flow. By adjusting the lamp power, water temperature is maintained below 40˚C (104˚F), the rate of sleeve fouling is consequently reduced by as much as 60%, resulting in estimated energy savings of 30%.
  • The CoolTouch Fan significantly reduces water temperature and does not waste any water.
  • For the sleeve bolts a quartertwist to the positive stop and you’re done. No tools, no risk of over-tightening.
  • Like a standard plug – no more grounding wires!
  • The optional plug-and-play solenoid valve stops water flow in the event that water treatment is compromised.
  • Assembly is simplified by the use of an integral flow restrictor.
  • Flexibility to connect to either 1¼” MNPT or 1” FNPT.
  • New and improved sensor ensures safe UV levels are maintained.
  • The revolutionary amalgam lamps reduce maintenance requirements by lasting up to 2 years.
  • Intuitive Interface – a picture is worth a thousand words.
  • The VIQUA systems use a revolutionary lamp with twice the output of current high-output lamps, giving you compact singlelamp systems that are half the size of their predecessors.
  • With plug-and-play colour coded connections, it’s as easy as “connect the dots.”
  • The optional COMMcenter displays UV dose and can monitor up to 9 UV systems – that’s up to 270 gpm!
  • Flow sensor monitors flow to provide real time UV dose.
  • Lower maintenance (Up to 60% less maintenance).
  • Decrease conditions that contribute to fouling and corresponding maintenance.
  • Increase time period between required maintenance.
  • Eliminate the need for a complicated mechanical sleeve cleaning system.
  • Estimated energy savings of 30% (Typical two unit [PRO20] installation uses 2800 kW/yr).
  • Water temperature is maintained below 40˚Celsius (104˚F) in noflow conditions.
  • Eliminates the need for hot water purging in no-flow conditions.

VIQUA PRO24-186 Ultraviolet Water Disinfection Systems

VIQUA PRO24-186 ultraviolet water disinfection system
  • 3rd party validated for Adenovirus (4-log virus) for 24 gpm (45 lpm) flow at an applied UV dose of 186 mJ/cm2.
  • 2 chamber, ultra-high output VIQUA amalgam UV lamps with Cool-Touch fan technology.
  • The CoolTouch Fan significantly reduces water temperature and does not waste any water.
  • For the sleeve bolts a quarter-twist to the positive stop and you’re done. No tools, no risk of over-tightening.

Book Your FREE Water Test To Find Out If Your Water Supply Needs UV Disinfection

Get your FREE water test today

Your water test will reveal to you the level of bacteria contained in your current drinking water. This will determine what level of disinfection is required (if any) in order to keep your water source safe and clean for consumption. Additionally, you will also learn the current hardness of your water which can help you to determine if water conditioning is also required in order to increase the effectiveness of UV disinfection and extend the life of your entire water system, including fixtures.
